Let’s get your business’ marketing off the ground.

You’ve done a ton of work validating your product idea…but creating marketing around it is easier said than done.

If you’re like any of the other startup founders I work with, chances are you’re experiencing at least ONE of these:

  • Your product has so many cool features…but when you start talking about them, people get a overwhelmed and confused.

  • You’ve got lots of ideas swirling around in your head…but you can’t sit down and synthesize them in a coherent way.

  • You know you need some focus in your marketing and messaging…but you don’t know how to get there.

  • You want a website that actually explains what your product does…but you don’t have the time to waste hacking together a site with DIY copy.

Sound familiar?

In short: getting a product to market is hard work. And the words on your website can sometimes feel like one. more. obstacle.

That’s where I can help.

My name is Grace Baldwin.

I’m a messaging strategist and conversion copywriter that works with startups and scale ups to figure out what you want to say, and how you want to say it.

Over the last 7 years I’ve helped startups like Aquifer, Omnia, Haggle, and Red Bourbon sort through their features, develop key messages, and build a website that connects your audience to your product.

I’m a certified product marketer, a trained conversion copywriter, and a brand enthusiast. And I’d love to work with you to bring your vision to life.

If you’re a startup who’s looking for a quick—but effective—way to nail your messaging, I’m your gal.

Over the last few years, I’ve taken all my battle-tested conversion copywriting and product marketing frameworks and turned them into a simple, straightforward process that’s perfect for startups:

  • We’ll take a look at what ‘s going on in your business before we write a word of copy. Good positioning is the foundation for all marketing. Every project starts with a review of how you stand out compared to the rest of the market. We’ll also ID the top 2-3 features to focus on in your sales.

  • I’ll take the hard work from the positioning and turn it into a simple messaging hierarchy.

  • Once the “science” of messaging is complete, it’s time for the art. My team will create web copy for you based on conversion principles and frameworks, but also brand voice.

Want a cohesive, interesting, and meaningful message?

There are a few ways we can work together.

STEP 1

Let’s take all the ideas swirling in your head and organize them into clear, coherent messages. You’ll walk away from this with a messaging playbook you can use to DIY your web copy — or you can have us do it.

  • Discovery: If you’re interested, we’ll hop on a 20-minute phone call to see if we’re a good fit.

  • Onboarding: Once the paperwork is taken care of, we’ll choose a week that we can work together. I’ll send you a client onboarding document for you to fill out and return by the Friday before our “working week” starts.

  • Monday kickoff: On the Monday of our working week, we’ll have a 90-minute deep dive call to review the homework. After that, I’ll go into my brain cave and whip up a strategy for you.

  • Wednesday strategy presentation and review: We’ll have a call to go over the document so I can answer any questions and get your feedback live.

  • Friday delivery and offboarding: I’ll send you a final version of the web copy by EOD on Friday, along with all the offboarding documents.

Total investment: $1999

Organize your thoughts with a messaging playbook.

STEP 2

Build a new website that matches your messaging strategy.

Once the strategy is set, you might feel like updating your website. Every project is custom, but here’s an example of what it could look like:

  • Week 1: Kickoff and strategy: I’ll audit your website with a fine-toothed comb to see what’s working from a conversion perspective (and where there are opportunities for improvement). We’ll end the week with a call where I’ll walk through the audit report with you and highlight my recommendations.

  • Week 2: First drafts: Once the strategy is set, my team will take over and create a first version of up to 5 pages of copy for you.

  • Week 3: 60% Review: This is your chance to review. At this point you can give feedback on the overall structure of the page, as well as the nitty-gritty details.

  • Week 4: Second drafts: Once you’ve reviewed the first drafts of copy, my team will make edits and return the second draft to you. You’ll have a week to request any final tweaks.

  • Week 5: 90% review: This is your chance to go through things a second time. At this point the overall structure will be set, so I’ll ask for feedback on specific wording and details.

  • Week 6: Final tweaks + Offboarding: This week I’ll wrap up the project and package everything for you. You’ll get a shiny Google Drive folder filled with resources.

Investment: pricing is custom, but as a ballpark you can expect to pay about $700/page.

All projects include…

  • Thorough audits of existing materials

  • Positioning + messaging review

  • Conversion copy written by the best in the business

  • Strategy documentation (for easy internal sharing)

  • Tone of Voice consideration

  • Professional editing

  • Fast turnaround times

Why me?

Good question. I’m glad you asked.

I'm Grace. I'm a freelance copywriter who has spent the last 6 years helping small B2B SaaS companies get their big ideas heard. I've written dozens of websites at this point, including Hiber, Aiden, Aquifer, Omnia, and more. And I've been the guiding light behind the brand voice for all of those projects.

We'll be a great fit if you're looking to work with someone who is...

  • Easygoing, but extremely efficient. I've worked in SaaS companies, so I know that sometimes priorities shift. My process is rigid enough that we always move forward, but flexible enough to expand a week, contract a week, or just move things around as needed.

  • Creative, but with a commercial mindset. Brand is fun. But it's also a strategic investment. I'm a certified conversion copywriter and product marketer, so I care deeply about building things that sound good and drive business.

  • Here to make the world a better place. I donate 5% of my business profits to different environmental and social justice organizations. If you want your money to help end deforestation of the Amazon, support reproductive access in the United States, and protect LGBTQIA+ people around the world, then let's chat.

Gijs Schuringa, Sumting

“Grace helped us make the narrative more consistent and engaging for our visitors. Would highly recommend!”

Gabor Kalmar, Omnia Retail

“Grace could make a phone book sound interesting.”
